$3.75M Awarded at OR Bend Venture Conference
Economic Development for Central Oregon hosted the 13th Annual Bend Venture Conference to a sold-out crowd and announce the winners of $3,755,000 in investments and cash prizes, setting a new record for Oregon angel conferences. Side investment deals are still being finalized.

OR and WA Offer Top Tax Breaks to Data Centers
Oregon and Washington offer some of the most lucrative tax breaks in the nation to large data centers. Washington provided tax breaks worth $57.4 million to data centers in its last fiscal year and Oregon's incentives are valued at $33.7 million.

Feds Approve $895K for Portland Southwest Corridor Planning
The Federal Transit Administration has awarded Metro an $895,000 grant to help create an equitable economic development and housing strategy for the Southwest Corridor, where the elected regional government is studying building the next MAX light rail to connect Portland and Tualatin through Tigard.

Oregon Coast Aquarium Pays Off More Bond Debt
Regulatory filings made this month with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board show the tourist attraction will once again pay off a chunk of bond debt early. The aquarium expects to pay off $395,000 in bond debt and the remaining $500,000 in principal on a $1.6 million loan.

OR Energy Trust Offers Incentives for Farm Improvements
Last year the Oregon Energy Trust assisted agricultural customers with more than 430 irrigation and greenhouse projects, distributing about $1.3 million in incentives. Energy Trust offers rebates to farmers who acquire more energy efficient equipment and lighting.

USDA Announces Grant to Support Energy Efficiency and Business Growth in OR
Northwest SEED will increase energy efficiency installations in the Oregon Rogue Valley, stimulate business growth, enable residents to reduce their energy costs, and support environmental stewardship with the help of a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development.
