TIF is a Robust Multitool in KY The Lane Report gives an overview of how tax increment financing works in Kentucky and gives example of recent projects that demonstrate the benefits of using TIF. EDA Grant Announced for Former KY Coal Jobs According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Communities in Kentucky hit by a downturn in coal or power-plant jobs could get help with economic development under the new EPA Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) program. Construction of High-Speed Internet Network in Eastern KY A project to build a high-speed internet service network throughout Kentucky is on track. According to Kentucky.com, the legislature authorized $30 million in bonds, the Appalachian Regional Commission contributed $15 million, and Macquarie Capital will pay to build the system. Northern KY Fund Gets Federal Boost The Catalytic Fund has been certified as a CDFI, according to the agency's press release. Servicing Ludlow, Covington, Newport, Bellevue and Dayton, Kentucky, the agency is just the third CDFI in Greater Cincinnati and twelfth in the commonwealth. CDFA Quarterly Membership Update - Spring 2015 Toby Rittner, President & CEO, provides an update on the initiatives CDFA has been conducting and the success that CDFA has had this year.
