$2B GM Redevelopment Would Expand Dekalb Co, GA Tax-Base
The proposed redevelopment of the Doraville GM plant could increase the plants tax value by $750 million. The project's development has been stalled by a dispute between Dekalb County officials over a proposed TAD to fund the construction.
Invest Atlanta Tentatively OKs $57.6M in Bonds and Incentives
Invest Atlanta's board voted 3-1 in favor of an "inducement" resolution declaring an intent to issue up to $55 million in bonds to finance a 21-story, 333-room hotel at Marietta and Baker streets.
Hampton, GA Officials Approve Incentive-Laden Enterprise Zone
Hampton Council members approved the creation of an enterprise zone that will allow new businesses to receive tax and fee reductions for occupational taxes, building permits, planning and zoning, engineering, and business licenses.
Canton, GA Council to Vote on Historic District
Canton officials are set to vote on whether to approve the creation of a historic district If the measure is approved, business owners could receive low-interest loans and federal tax credits for the rehabilitation of their historic properties.
Douglas Co., GA Officials to Vote on Foxhall Project
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on a major resort development at the Foxhall Resort & Sporting Club. If approved, the $150 million project would be financed through EB-5 funds, revenue bonds, and a PILOT program.
Atlanta Joins Wave of Airports Boosting Capital Spending
To keep pace with rising passenger and aircraft demands, the ATL will need a new, sixth runway and a new concourse – both estimated to cost nearly $2 billion – as well as a $500 million hotel and mixed-use commercial complex.
